DICHOTOMY project

The ongoing photo project “Dichotomy” is about mothers who gave birth during wartime. In the literal sense, it is the division of one person into two, and figuratively – the combination of two opposite or radically different feelings of a mother after the birth of a child in wartime: the greatest happiness and love and the greatest fear, which are felt ten times stronger due to constant danger. The purpose of the project to show and record the contradiction and duality of maternal feelings during war, to show new life as the opposite of non-life (death) during war.

The first story in the project is my own, I gave birth to a child in 2025, in the third year of the full-scale invasion.
