“Memory of You: Our Today” is a photo project about the existence of a woman after the loss of her husband at the front. It as part of a larger project of psychological support to wives whose husbands were killed in the Russian-Ukrainian war, called ‘Beloved, I Live!’ and was created in the frontline city of Zaporizhzhia in 2022. The project lasts for 2 months and includes 8 meetings, which are divided into two parts: the first is a closed psychological session where wives work through the psychological aspects of their loss, and the second is various types of art therapy and physical activities to strengthen emotional recovery. “Memory of You: Our Today” – this is a photoserie where we could see how the wife is living her life now without her husband. Obligatory part of the serie is the psychological processing of loss through photography with the things left behind by the husband. Each wife chooses the items to be photographed. In some cases, this is the wife’s first contact with her husband’s belongings, which were handed over by his comrades-in-arms after his death: it can be a backpack, helmet, or bulletproof vest, other military items, sometimes with bullet holes or the deceased husband’s blood.
